An expert panel advising the FDA has recommended that the steroid nasal spray Nasacort AQ should be made available without a prescription.
If the FDA follows this recommendation, Nasacort would become the first intranasal corticosteroid sold over the counter in the U.S. It is already available without a prescription in ten other countries.
