Tamiflu Prevents Complications in Children

One antiviral medicine called Tamiflu seems to be helpful for preventing complications in children with chronic health problems such as asthma, other lung conditions, cancer or diabetes. A study of over 5,000 children found that those who received Tamiflu shortly after developing influenza were 25 percent less likely to develop breathing-related complications compared to kids who got no antiviral flu medicine.  They were also about thirty percent less likely to get ear infections or be hospitalized.
