Self-Monitoring Helps Motivated Dieters

Losing weight is one of the more difficult challenges of modern life, but one simple strategy may make a huge difference. Scientists have discovered that motivation is key, but so is a daily diary. Writing down what you put in your mouth every single day can help dieters stay on track. The researchers tracked 66 women who wanted to lose weight. Those who started out with strong motivation and logged their food and beverage intake online were the most successful.
