Older Motorbike Riders at Higher Risk

Baby boomers are rediscovering the joys of riding motorcycles. But they are at higher risk than younger riders when it comes to accidents. A study from the University of Rochester Medical Center found that older bikers were twice as likely to die in an accident than younger ones. When they survived a crash, their injuries were more severe and they spent more time in the hospital or intensive care unit. The moral seems to be that when boomers take to the road on their motorcycles, they must exercise more caution.
