There are more data confirming that moderate alcohol consumption can be benefit the heart. A study of 1,200 women hospitalized after a heart attack found that light drinkers were about one-third less likely to die over the following decade compared to teetotalers. In this study, light drinking was defined as ranging from a couple of drinks a month up to as many as three a week.
