Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs known as NSAIDs have been shown to reduce the likelihood of developing a number of malignancies, in particular, colo-rectal cancer. Now a new study from Belgium suggests that women who received an NSAID called ketorolac for pain relief after mastectomy were much less likely to have a recurrence of their breast cancer. Six percent of the women who were given the NSAID had a recurrence compared to 17 percent of those who did not get ketorolac.
