Hot Enough For You and Your Deodorant?

In case you haven't noticed, it's hot out there! Is your deodorant doing the job? Save 25% on our deodorant with discount code POP25.

Much of the country has been suffering from record-breaking heat. We hope that will soon become less intense, but we expect the rest of the summer to stay hot. Is your deodorant up to the task? We are nearing the end of our special sale on deodorant. In honor of Father’s Day earlier this month, we offered 25% off both Men’s MoM (Milk of Magnesia) Aluminum-Free Roll-On Deodorant  and our popular Unscented Magnesium-Rich, Aluminum-Free Roll-on Deodorant. Why use harsh aluminum-containing antiperspirants? Use the discount code POP25 when you check out to get your 25% off. But don’t wait! The sale is good until Sunday, June 30, 2024.

When temperatures are soaring, chances are you need a strong deodorant. But you do not want something that will irritate your delicate armpits! What to use? When is the last time you bothered to look at the ingredients in your antiperspirant or your deodorant? Most people don’t read the fine print. Even if they did, they probably would not know what to make of those chemical names.

Some people are sensitive to antiperspirants containing aluminum salts such as aluminum chlorohydrate or aluminum zirconium tricholorohydrex glycine. We won’t even touch the whole controversial question of whether aluminum is bad for your brain.

Why Try Milk of Magnesia for Your Underarms?

Several years ago we heard from a reader of our newspaper column that milk of magnesia (magnesium hydroxide) was a terrific deodorant when applied to the underarms. When most people think of milk of magnesia (MoM) they think oral laxative. Phillip’s Milk of Magnesia in the familiar blue bottle was introduced in 1872.

We have found that MoM does indeed work great as a deodorant. Some people use it for under breast rash or jock itch. But applying it can be challenging. It is messy to pour liquid MoM into the palm of your hand and then slap it into your armpits or groin. That is why we developed The People’s Pharmacy Milk of Magnesia Roll-On Deodorant. Find it here.

Here is what some people say about MoM as a deodorant:

“I am a 63 year old male who is over 300 pounds. I work in an un-air-conditioned factory. Yesterday it was 96 degrees F. and today 98 degrees F. I sweated profusely and there was NO ODOR at all! The People’s Pharmacy MoM deodorant does work and has no irritation. Now that’s a true test.”

And then there is this:

“I have always had bad underarm odor. I have tried a million anti-perspirants, including the clinical ones, and even Certain-Dri which burned a lot and was extremely uncomfortable. It stopped the sweat, but I still had odor.

“I went to a dermatologist and have tried everything in the book from Dry-Sol to charcoal tablets; all gave me bad side effects.

“I tried MoM and have had very good results. I have a little break-through sweating, but it doesn’t smell. I have been very satisfied, and am happy that I have finally found something that works for me, without bad side effects.”
