What does the “D” in Medicare Part D stand for? It could stand for Drugs, since this is the part of Medicare that pays for prescription medications for seniors. But at this point in time, it also could stand for Deadline or Debacle. Medicare recipients must sign up for a plan to participate in Part D by May 15.
